In this week’s sports psychology podcast, mental game of sports expert, Dr. Patrick Cohn interviews Tim Gallwey about his approach to mental coaching. This podcast is a special preview of one of 14 interviews with nationally recognized top sports psychologists. In this excerpt, Gallwey speaks about his career path to where is now and how he got into sports psychology. He also talks about who influenced him to come up with his inner game principles.
Tim Gallwey was doing sports psychology before anyone even called it sports psychology. Around the mid 1970’s Tim produced a series of bestselling books, including The Inner Game of Tennis and The Inner Game of Golf, which at the time was a new methodology for the personal and athletic excellence. For the last twenty years Gallwey has been introducing the Inner Game approach to corporations including AT&T, IBM, Arco, Anheuser Busch, Apple Computer, and The Coca-Cola Company. Today, Tim helps people who work in teams to learn how to work together more effectively.
